Kids for the Carousel is a program to encourage participation of local school children in rasing funds to adopt their mascot for the carousel. The mascot will be carved by the Southern Maryland woodcarvers and painted in their school colors. This will be a way to create and maintain excitement and forge a sense of carousel ownership by all the members of the Southern Maryland community.

PLANNED ACTIVITIES

"Pennies for Ponies" -- the students would bring pennies to donate to the cost of adoption of their mascot or carousel ponies.
Song Adoption program -- the schools' songs will be included in the music played by the carousel's band organ.
